Addressing people with tu, du, or vu formalizes types of respect of the person, but isn’t a requirement of every greeting and is limited to pronouns in vulcan/vuhlkansu. When you speak to someone who also speaks vuhlkansu, one might be more or less likely to use one version or another, and in the etymology (the word’s history) of pronouns these forms have changed and will be later defined in the completed pronouns section. Consider how you might differently address a brother (sa-kai) or sister (ko-kai), doctor (hassu), teacher (savensu), parent (mekh), or worker (ar’kadasu).
